Category:PCB SMT Stencil
The purpose of an SMT stencil is to transfer solder paste to a bare circuit board. Before the assembly of the SMT components solder paste is printed onto the component pads of the printed circuit board by stencil, which are today usually manufactured from steel, more rarely from nickel or polyimide.
I recently started at a new company. They have a variety of bare PCB's and most have aprox. 20 variations. Maybe about 1/3 of each board on average are non-populated locations. They buy one stencil fo...(view more)
This is a general question just to see what people may be doing to control the stencil printing process. I am new to the stencil printing process and as the subject line states I am looking to set up ...(view more)
hi, I am a research student in Electronics manufacturing at RIT. We are planning to assemble boards using lead free solder paste. I was wondering there be any changes in printing in using lead-free pa...(view more)
I have a stencil, on which the fids are no longer black enough for my screen printer to find them. A long time ago at a previous place of employment we had a loctite product to fill these in as a perm...(view more)
I look for an international standard for PCB stretch . In case of misplaced solder paste versus stencil we noticed shorts after placement . I found cases where the PCB (image pattern) did not match wi...(view more)
We make an excellent chem-etch stencil. Our customers have had success printing 16 mil pitch without a problem. This is not an advertisement! When we try to sell our product to new customers, we...(view more)
I was looking for an stencil design for a 0.5mm pitch uBGA. Pad size is 0.38mm in diameter. We have been using 5mil stencil with type 3 no clean paste. What size aperture should we be using? Any sugge...(view more)
Can anyone tell be what is the acceptable manufacturing tolerance from stencil to PCB . 2) what are the methods we can avoid that. 3) What is the method to avoid PCB shrinkage. 4) How can we correct s...(view more)
Hello all, Just curious as to what type of chemistries most people prefer to use and what produces the best results. We currently have an EMC Global Technologies Cyber Clean 1000 Model 32P system. We ...(view more)
I have a question regarding post cured property of SMT adhesive. If after component placement, the epoxy dot gets compressed and bridges between the 2 pads, what would the impact on the circuitr...(view more)
