On May 19, 2025, Huawei unveiled the FreeArc open-ear earphone during the nova 14 series and HarmonyOS PC launch event. This earphone introduces a new form factor, offering diverse and personalized options for consumers.
Ergonomic Design and Durability
The FreeArc earphone features a C-shaped bridge, 140¡ã triangular support, and balanced weight distribution, developed through analysis of over 10,000 ear contours. These ensure stability during activities like running or cycling. A flexible memory alloy adapts to various ear shapes, while soft liquid silicone provides skin-friendly comfort. The earphone has earned SGS certification for health-conscious wear and sound quality.
With an IP57 dust and water resistance rating, including dual waterproof microphones, the earphone withstands rain or sweat. It is available in three colors: Sky Gray, Starry Black, and Field Green.
Audio and Connectivity
The earphone uses a high-sensitivity dynamic driver, paired with dynamic low-frequency and adaptive equalization algorithms, delivering clear vocals, detailed instrumentals, and robust bass. A reverse sound field acoustic system reduces sound leakage for focused audio output. For calls, dual microphones and a triple noise-canceling system ensure clarity in outdoor settings.
The FreeArc is Huawei¡¯s first earphone with a Rhino antenna, providing signal coverage across a 400-meter sports field or 100-square-meter office, enabling uninterrupted music and calls without carrying a phone.
Smart Features and Battery Life
The earphone integrates with the Huawei Health App for real-time workout updates. Gesture controls include sliding to adjust volume and holding to activate a voice assistant. It offers up to 7 hours of music playback on a full charge, extendable to 28 hours with the charging case. A 10-minute charge provides 3 hours of listening.
