Wearable Interactive Camera Based on V853

Author : Adrian October 01, 2025

Overview

Goal: Implement a wearable smart camera that can be worn as an eyeglass accessory or integrated into glasses. The device runs on the Allwinner V853 to detect and recognize images within the user's field of view. Results are transmitted via IoT connectivity to network nodes to enable remote interaction with devices.

Main use cases: Integration of IoT and human-machine interaction, including:

  • Gesture-recognition based smart home control terminal
  • Traffic-assist glasses using object detection and image segmentation
  • Gesture-based game controller

System Concept

Block overview and schematic: see attachments for details.

  • Memory and storage: DDR3 x1, eMMC x1, TF card slot x1
  • One microphone input
  • One MIPI camera interface
  • 1.13-inch TFT-LCD screen interface
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules
  • Multiple expansion GPIOs

Operation: The V853 NPU processes images captured by the camera and returns recognition results. Results are sent over the network to IoT nodes to achieve human-machine interaction.
