When selecting and configuring a 5 GHz router, consider multiple factors to ensure stable and efficient network performance. The following guidance covers model selection and basic setup steps.

 

1. Choosing a 5 GHz Router

  1. Performance requirements:
    • If you need to support multiple devices concurrently at high speeds, choose a router that supports Wi?Fi 6 or later versions, which typically offer higher wireless throughput and improved signal performance.
    • For better wall penetration and coverage, consider routers with high?gain or multiple antennas.
  2. Brand and reputation:
    • Consider established brands such as TP?LINK, Xiaomi, and Huawei, which generally provide mature technology and more comprehensive support options.
    • Check user reviews to learn about real?world performance and stability, and avoid models with consistently poor feedback.
