KiCad is a free software suite for electronic design automation (EDA). It facilitates the design of schematics for electronic circuits and their conversion to PCB designs. KiCad features an integrated environment for schematic capture and PCB layout design. Tools exist within the package to create a bill of materials, artwork, Gerber files, and 3D views of the PCB and its components.

Is there some kind of eraser facility in kicad to get rid of the arcs of the circle between the two parallel lines?

It's not hard to go fancy. In the gerber step, intersect your two rectangles with a circular pad to remove the extra copper.

You can draw arcs where you want them and then delete the circle.

Are those copper areas are pads? If yes, there is no concave outline definitions for pads. You have to approximate it with several smaller pads.
