Fairchild KSC1845F/KSA992F from RS, Made in Japan?

I just bought 200 of each Fairchild KSC1845F/KSA992F from RS. On the bags it says "made in Japan". I thougt that Fairchild took over when they made the Japan made 2SA/2SC parts obsolete? Anyone know whats going on?
