Overview
A reverse car-finding system is generally an extension of a parking guidance system. An intelligent reverse car-finding system helps drivers locate their vehicles when they return to a large parking facility. It can identify the parked vehicle's area quickly, reducing search time, accelerating vehicle turnover, and increasing occupancy and revenue.
User Interaction
In large parking facilities, drivers who leave and then return may be unable to find their cars because of the facility size and complex internal layout, wasting time. This system addresses that problem. After returning, a driver can use a query terminal to enter part of the license plate number via touch to search for the vehicle. Once the plate is selected, the system uses algorithms to display the optimal route from the user's location to the vehicle, reducing search time and improving space utilization.
Video-Based Guidance and Reverse Finding
Video-based parking guidance systems use real-time recognition of vehicles and license plates at each parking space to provide both guidance and reverse car-finding functions.
Installation and Operation in Underground Parking
For underground parking, a video detection terminal is installed at each parking space to capture vehicle photos, detect occupancy, extract license plates, and control the space status indicator light. The system guides drivers using the indicator light's red/green status and the number of available spaces shown on in-facility guidance screens, helping vehicles find parking quickly. License plate numbers and vehicle photos are used by the reverse car-finding function.
Monitoring and Management
The system sends each parking space's status in real time to a management computer and displays it on an electronic map so staff can view occupancy at a glance.
