Pad cratering is a mechanically induced fracture in the resin between copper foil and outermost layer of fiberglass of a printed circuit board (PCB). It may be within the resin or at the resin to fiberglass interface. Do you have ever problems about pcb pads? please talk here.

Hi All,
Has anyone seen or used equipment that is capable of automating the process of attaching hookup wire directly to a large SMT pad?
Soldering, ultrasonic?
I'm looking to see if there is a machine that is capable of automatically taking a teflon coated 20AWG wire and cut-strip and solder to a PCB.
