Component placement is an electronics manufacturing process that places electrical components precisely on printed circuit boards to create electrical interconnections between functional components and the interconnecting circuitry in the PCBs. The component leads must be accurately immersed in the solder paste previously deposited on the PCB pads.

We are doing a field study to test the placement accuracy and calculate cpk of some machines in our plant. From previous readings, it is suggested that you buy glass board kits from Accuspec, Topline, etc. Is that the easiest/cheapest way to go about it or is there a way you can create your own board, components, and kit so this can be done frequently? What's the easiest yet most efficient way to measure/determine the machines accuracy?
