Broadening the company’s suite of boundary scan tools, ScanPlus Viewer, a graphical fault identification system, helps isolate the source and location of defects that occur during the design and manufacture of pc boards. By comparing a photographic image of the board with layout descriptions found in the board’s netlist and boundary scan report, the system can provide a complete visual representation of the target. The easy-to-use interface is said to allow even novice users with little or no boundary-scan experience to pinpoint failures on even the most complex boards and systems. A variety of special features makes the system also suitable for seasoned test and design engineers. The fault detector is available as a software module for use with the company’s ScanPlus-Runner and ScanExpress test executives. Prices start at $5,000.
