Incorporating what HUBER+SUHNER terms a “triplex approach,” the MPX50 multicoax solution is optimized for digital testing rates up to 50 GHz and 50 Gb/s. The connector, unveiled at DesignCon in Santa Clara, Calif., enables testing to very high levels—the true coaxial-to-PCB transition of up to 50 Gb/s and 50 GHz will comply with the latest generation of semiconductor standards used in evaluation-board designs and test setups. The triplex approach consists of the company’s high-density/high-performance MXP PCB connector, the MULTIFLEX 53-02 breakout assembly, and SUCOFLEX 100 cable assembly, which is designed to connect measurement equipment with very low loss. The MXP50 occupies less board space due to its dense interface pitch. The compact design also enables positioning next to the device-under-test/chip, thus shortening transmission lines and lowering losses. Quick, easy replugging is possible thanks to push-on mating featuring a slide-on interface design.
